Immediate Restoration of Emergency Communications

To immediately restore emergency communications, WSGI UAVs will carry radio relay payload to launch from strategically chosen locations, or can be flown directly to areas of operation. Rising to operational altitudes, the Argus, SkySat and Stratellite™ will support emergency communications equipment compatible with FM handsets that can be distributed to key first responder and EMS personnel, and to emergency management command and control centers.

Every disaster recovery situation is unique, but the entire disaster recovery community shares the need for reliable, interoperable communications between recovery team elements.

A nuclear power accident would produce radiological ground contamination. A dispersal weapon or nuclear detonation would likely impact housing areas and businesses in metropolitan regions. Natural disasters, accidents, and negligence could also cause displacement or loss of legitimate radiological sources.

As with chemical spills, assessing a radiological event is critically time sensitive. Minutes count. Airborne surveys offer the fastest means of assessing an incident so that prompt mitigation and remediation can begin.

A VHF/UHF solution is engineered into our chipsets to allow our platforms to use standard DVB-RCT systems, compatible and immediately functional with the VHF/UHF hardware most commonly used by first responders.

The need for broader connectivity among individual first responders strongly supports the concept of using equipment already deployed in the defense and civilian infrastructure for first responder and EMS communities.
